Hi Francis, Just thinking about you and your presentation at Prana 2011; was wondering if you were going to go this year, if not what are your plans and what do you propose most people should do - if anything, regarding upcoming planetary/universe alignments? I realise that's a pretty big question, but I was very intrigued by your reading

I thought it a very good question and here is my reply...


- Hi Brad, I'm not going to Prana this year. In fact I'm going to get married on January 4th 2013, if that is any indication. 

I propose that we all need to keep ourselves clear and be alert for a new direction. For many "prophets" this seems to be some sort of disconnection, but I have never seen, nor does history show such massive disconnects. From the channelling sessions that I do, the information suggests that at the end of 2012 "time" as we know it will cease to exist.

Initially I thought that was a big ask. However just this weekend I was reading a passage in a history book which described how GMT started. In 1880 Britain passed a law that brought local times under a single time plan which was GMT. This essentially means that "time" as we know it only began in 1880 so ceasing in 2012 is hardly a big affair. The impact of the introduction of GMT was still felt globally. As will the impact of its cessation. 

The new consciousness that we expect has to be based on both Eris and its ruling sign of Libra. The result is Responsibility, Accountability and Transparency.


As you can see the Dotcom affair has catapulted NZ politics into this breakdown. The country needs to demand the resignation of those who lied to us about this affair. 


While the buck stops at John Key, I personally would be happy with Bill English's head. No matter whether Key's goes as well. The point is that unless there is accountability for this we send the message that unlawfullness is okay for politicians. English is culpable because after knowing it was illegal he tried to hide it by using ministerial powers. That actually makes him a criminal. If Key doesn't get rid of him it makes Key an accessory to a crime, thus also a criminal.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of course. The question is the consciousness. I believe that the next three months will drop bombshell after bombshell of these types of revelations all over the world forcing us to unite in agreements about the requirements for leadership. With this in mind, I would propose that everybody cleans up their act. Clear the issues with wives, girlfriends, parents and children to the degree that you are comfortable with anyone knowing all your secrets.

Consider what you would do if your nearest and dearest had a dark secret that came to light. Learn how to keep your equanimity, how to forgive and have compassion. Recognise that humans are all flawed. Learn as much as you can about yourself. 

What I have begun to see is the cracks in the secrets and hidden agendas that cause the lack of trust that we all sense with most people misusing their power. In order to begin I am going to start teaching astrology classes in Takapuna to help with this understanding.

If I were able to get a significant pre-paying group together at Prana wanting astrology tuition I might have considered going again. Or even doing it somewhere else. The classes I have planned are 8 x 2½ hour long classes which would mean 20 hours tuition. With time to integrate it would be a minimum of 3 days if it were done all together.


For me, the Age of Aquarius began in 2000 and it takes 12 years to fully imbed. Aquarius is connected to Libra because Uranus rules Aquarius and Libra at the higher levels. Originally, Uranus was castrated by his Titan children, when he comes back into his power well might they cringe! Libra insists that the message for this new Age is "Right Relationship", and that is what Delaine and I plan to bring down through our Alchemical Marriage, the so-called "End of the Great Work". So you see I want to remain purposeful even in this time of transition.

The Eris Factor – Viewpoints through a New Lens

Whenever we consider the astrological interpretations for the planets we need to consider the actual properties it has, and the ancient myth after which it was named. When a new planet is discovered it provides a different window through which to define the whole astrological interpretation. This is because the discovery provides a novel viewpoint for the whole of civilisation.

Often the properties of the planet are scientifically identified after the astrological signature has been established. There is a sort of random coincidence between the naming of a planet by the scientific community, its associated myth, its properties and its astrological interpretation.

Take Uranus as an example.

Uranus has always been the planet of revolution. It provides shocks and rules electricity, Aquarius and the United States. So some facts about it. Uranus was discovered on March 13, 1781 by William Herschell who was by trade a piano tuner. Herschell was a amateur astronomer and had ground his own mirror which allowed him to see the planet. His discovery broke through the limitations of the natural eye and heralded in a scientific revolution.

While Thomas Newcomen patented the first atmospheric steam engine in 1712 it wasn't until 1769 that James Watt designed an improved steam engine that machine power became useful. This heralded the industrial revolution.

1775 was the start of the American War of Independence which went on til 1783. The leyden jar battery was invented Holland in 1745 and Benjamin Franklin carried out his famous kite experiment in 1752. Franklin was a member of the US Continental Congress which crafted the Articles of Confederation and he helped draft the Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution.

In 1783, Laki erupted in Iceland and colder climate of the Little Ice Age combined with France's failure to adopt the potato as a staple crop contributes to widespread famine and malnutrition. The treaty of Paris ended the Independence war in 1783. The success of the American colonists against a European power increases the ambitions of those wishing for reform in France.

1789 was the storming of the Bastille and the beginning of the real French Revolution.

As you can see everything was in place to instigate a revolutionary phase when Uranus was discovered. Uranus is tilted at 97^o essentially rolling around its orbit with the Sun. The axial tilt was only hinted at by Herschell in 1789 and finally confirmed in 1930. Uranus is out of phase with every other planet.

Uranus was the only planet (until the 1930 discovery of Pluto, Chiron and now Eris) whose name is derived from a figure from Greek mythology rather than Roman mythology. In the myth Uranus is a very potent god who procreates the Titans. The youngest and most ambitious is Cronus who was encouraged by his mother Gaia to castrate him.

When we consider the effects of the Industrial and Scientific revolutions we can see how the world of Gaia has been disturbed by the castration of the natural potential. Until the discovery and naming of Eris in 2007 we had no understanding of how the myth would unfold.

There is a natural connection between Uranus and Eris due to the association with the sign of Aquarius and its influence as the incoming Age. Uranus rules Aquarius at the mundane level but rules Libra at an esoteric level. Eris is the mundane ruler of Libra for a number of reasons, most obviously because it is tilted at an angle of about 44 degrees to the ecliptic. This means it is closer to the pivot point of a balance. This also makes it another odd-ball of the Solar system. Libra is the odd-ball sign because it is the only sign that isn't shown by a living thing. Libra is a balance, a man-made instrument for measuring natural principles.

All of this in essential when we start into astrological readings. Everybody's chart has to be interpreted against the prevailing background. It would be nonsense to do a chart reading and interpret it as if we were living in the eighteen century. So how is it that astrologers haven't updated the planetary interpretations against new scientific information?

So how will Eris affect how we interpret the new background? When you look at the myth surrounding Eris it doesn't appear too hot. She is hideous and disagreeable, the Goddess of Strife and Chaos. But when you look at those ideas a little deeper we have to ask, from whose point of view. First of all she is the only Goddess who is not invited to the forced wedding of Peleus and Thetis. She represents something not willingly invited.

Eris throws into the gathering the Golden Apple of Discord inscribed with the words “to the fairest” which was grabbed by three Goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. The "apple of discord" became a euphemism for the core, kernel, or crux of an argument, or for a small matter that could lead to a bigger dispute. The three Goddesses squabble over who is the fairest and Paris is selected by Zeus to adjudicate between the warring Goddesses.

It should not be forgotten that Peleus and his brother Telamon killed their half-brother Phocus, perhaps in a hunting accident and certainly in an unthinking moment. Thus, we identify this incident happens at the wedding of a criminal.

The three candidates bathed in the spring of Ida, then confronted Paris on Mount Ida in the climactic moment that is the crux of the tale. Each goddess wanted to be judged the fairest, so they each undressed and presented themselves to Paris naked, in hopes of appearing more sexual than the other two. While Paris inspected them, each attempted with her powers to bribe him; Hera offered to make him king of Europe and Asia, Athena offered wisdom and skill in war, and Aphrodite offered the world's most beautiful woman, Helen of Sparta, wife of the Greek king Menelaus. Paris accepted Aphrodite's gift and awarded the apple to her, receiving Helen as well as the enmity of the Greeks and especially of Hera.

Here we see the aspect of judgement being swayed by bribery. From this it is possible to see that mortals (Paris) is swayed by greed for Power, Wealth, Wisdom and Lust. All of which were offered by the Goddesses. Only Eris seems to be clear in her intention. The two forms of Eris are really Divine Justice or Divine Retribution. These are distinguished by truth or through deception.

The greed for Power, Wealth, Wisdom and Lust are the background against which we need to interpret our astrology. It turns out that Eris holds the balance between Divine Justice and Divine retribution and each one of us will be judged accordingly. Either there is ownership and remorse or there is denial of accountability. The Aquarian Age will bring in the three qualities of Responsibility, Accountability and Transparency.

Since the advent of the Hubble telescope we are able to see details that were never available previously. I now give updated consultations to people all over the world through the Skype system, another aspect of the Aquarian Age. As the new Eris consciousness settles in, it redefines how society will organise itself. Eris fills the final void for the rulers of the signs and so set a precedent as the conditions for humanity into the foreseeable future. Pluto set the conditions for the unconscious realms, Eris sets them for the super-conscious realm.

The Eris Factor - Final Justice

Eris is the largest known dwarf planet in our solar system. It is a little larger than Pluto. Eris is about 2400 kilometers wide.

Eris was first found by a team of astronomers at Palomar Observatory in California in 2003. Mike Brown and his team found Eris in 2003. In 2005 Eris was identified as another possible planet in our solar system and with Pluto become known as dwarf planets.

Eris is the most distant member of our solar system known at this time. It is 3 times farther out than Pluto. One trip around the Sun takes 557 Earth years for Eris. It is also at a 44^o angle to the ecliptic.

Observations of Eris have led scientists to believe it has frozen methane on its surface. Eris Dysnomia is the only moon of Eris that we now know about.

Okay, that is enough about the physical planet, but I assure you these facts are essential to understanding the astrology and psychology of this newest of heavenly bodies.

First, I want to say that as each new body appears to us it signifies a shift in perspective and a new window in which to assess and interpret everything that went before. Since 1977 we have been dealing with our own individual problems and challenges under the watchful eye of Chiron. Now, and particularly since 2007 when Eris was finally named we come under Her dominion. She is not a character to play around with because she extracts whatever is her due. Like Pluto, Eris signals two polarities, Divine Justice and Divine Retribution.

There are two qualities of Eris that give us an astrological hint. First of all the dwarf exists well beyond the boundaries of Pluto, and extends our view of where the Solar system ends. Secondly, it is nowhere near the plane of the ecliptic and actually only traverses through the signs of Aries and Libra. This means that Eris shows a distinctive difference between itself and all other planets.

The symbol for Libra is a scales and as such is radically different from all other symbols by being an inanimate object. For these two reasons, we can see that Eris rules the sign of Libra, allowing the only other feminine planet to rule Taurus. While Libra is often associated with beauty and harmony, it is also the mainstay of justice. When we see the likeness between the mythology of Eris and Lady Justice with her balance and sword we see the nature of Eris epitomised.

There are many stories in the mythology of Eris, most of which paint her into an extremely black nature, although it is clear that these archetypes are really elements in the collective unconscious mind of humanity. Originally Lady Justice was blindfolded showing that justice cannot be swayed by outside influences, then we can understand the paradox of Divine Justice (compassion for failings) and Divine Retribution (rage for those unrepentant).

Eris has an orbit of 557 years in the sign Aries since 1927 through to 2049.


These are very significant times for planet earth and its inhabitants. In fact we will meet the real consequences of our actions before Eris leaves Aries, and Justice/Retribution will be enacted. Then there is nearly two hundred years when Eris leaves no astrological mark until it re-enters its own sign of Libra in 2246 weighing in the balance whether humanity has brought itself to balance during its twenty year elliptical transit through until 2265.

It is clear from this that Eris is not a generational planet but one determining the fate of all species. As with the myth, she seems to be extreme and dark, and draws a line so clearly between truth and deceit.

This is where we are at right now in our evolutionary path. A line is drawn between to highest orders of honesty and the fall into lies, dishonest, deceit and loss of integrity. When Eris came into view it is as if she arrives at the party, shunned and disliked because she can’t be cheated, can’t be clouded by pretence. She is the silent avenger and so she brings to the fore the three markers on which everything will be tested in 2246. These are Accountability, Responsibility and Transparency.

This means that all future generations will be judged by whether a person or group or nation’s actions are transparent without secret and hidden agendas, whether they take responsibility for their actions and the consequences that happen as a result, and whether they are willing to provide a true account of what happened, and why they made their decisions. If so then judgement will come from Divine Justice, and if not then Divine Retribution will expose them, strip them of their plunder and cast them out.

The myth goes that everyone was invited to the party except Eris, and everyone went. It seems that we all fall short of being accountable, responsible and transparent. Now, since Eris is here, this is the time to begin becoming honest.

Eris has a single moon, Dysnomia, as far as we know. Mythologically, Dysnomia is known as lawlessness and shares her nature with Ate, ruin. It is yet to be determined whether ruin will appear as the second moon.

An Astrological view of the US Economy

Everybody knows that the US economy is in chaos. There are many commentators that tell us that it has bottomed out; others that it is only just beginning. What is the truth?

Everybody seems to have an opinion on America and its policies over its recent history, but we fail to remember is the promise when it sought Independence and was founded in1776. Astrology reminds us of the promise and where it is now relative to that promise.

Right at this moment the US is going through its nineth sequence of Saturn returns since its founding. Often these sequences go in threes, that is a conjunction followed by a retrograde conjunction folllowed by the final touch before moving on into the next period. The US had its first in December 2010, then March and finally 28th August. What this means is that the writing was on the wall in December with a period of time to react and readjust before its markets have to be accountable. Clearly the US did not do this.

Saturn is representative of a number of concepts, primarily the economy or money. It is also concerned with security, order and regulations and timing.

All of this is pretty standard astrology. What most astrologers do not contend with is the significance of the Solar Systems latest arrivee, the dwarf planet Eris. Eris represents the only other feminine planet besides Venus. She brings "balance to the Force", in Star Wars terms. Actually she is the bringer of Divine Justice and Divine Retribution. Perhaps better she is the Divine reviewer and Judge.

On 24th January 2012 transiting Pluto finally impacts on the natal Eris in the US chart. Pluto brings life through the death of the old, that is transformation. When the ruler of the underworld meets Justice, old debts have to be paid, sentence is passed and the term has to be served. But all is not lost, because America was founded on principles long forgotten but preserved in the first Constitution. The two lights, masculine and feminine are both resident in Aquarius the ruling sign of the US. Neptune, the dreamer and idealist is also still in Aquarius which brings ideas into a practical and fixed position. No all is not lost, but it will take a visionary leader who takes finance and greed out of the equation. Aquarius was once ruled by Saturn before Uranus arrived to lift humanity into a new consciousness, birthing the Industrial revolution in1763. only thirteen years before the US came into being.

2012 marks the beginning of a new age of unity brought about by technology and the internet. Whether we use this for the benefit of humanity as a whole and shift our consciousness to a sense of belonging, or we use it for suppression and control rests in the balance. What is certain, Eris will cast down Justice for whichever we choose or allow to happen.

INTO THE CAULDRON OF RELATIONSHIP: An Alchemy of Friction

Many people have realised that the purpose of the physical reality is as a sort of experiential school, a learning environment. The purpose of seemingly incarnating is to develop a sense of interconnectedness. That the whole nature of the universe, as we all experience it, is designed as a feedback loop for remembering we are all connected, are all one. There is little new in this revelation.

However, if we take this a little further, we discover that they way the universe feeds back to us is in it's apparent manifestation. That means that whatever we do has some sort of effect in reality. The effect is connected to our expectations, and those of the other people with whom our actions interact. Such understanding is often referred to as Karma.

Going still deeper we find that our interpretation of our experiences determines what learning we manage to take from those events. If we look for meaning, we will find it at the level we're looking. If we don't think that events have anything to do with us, we'll not look for meaning, and of course we won't find any. If we look for God's message to us, then that's what we'll find. If we look for positivity in every experience then that also is what we'll find. Thus, we'll find meaning in anything, at the level we're looking. And we'll gather learning at that same level.

The reality we experience is determined by the level of meaning we look for. Reality simply reflects back, or mirrors that meaning for us. Thus, the physical environment is a direct reflection of each of our beings. People, things and events respond directly to the meaning we give them, and the only meaning we can give them is that which we determine. Reality is what we are, and we are constantly in relationship to it in all respects.

If a person is seeking a path to enlightenment, and through that back to the Unknowable Omniscience or Source, then the simple solution is to study reality in detail. This is because as we remove the definitions and meanings that we have put on reality, the closer to pure truth we become. The advanced and accelerated path to enlightenment is that which gives the clearest reflection, quickest and most directly. This is an emotional intimate heterosexual relationship. The basic laws of reflection are fulfilled, what is there is both identical and polar opposite concurrently.

This leads us to the next understanding, that the world is a world of paradox. Paradox is when something at first sight appears to be absurd or self-contradictory but in reality contains a substratum of truth. Every paradox consists of a continuum of experience, that moves from a limited space to an unlimited one. One pole of the paradox is contained within a more expansive one. The continuum runs from inside out. Having discovered this truth it follows that every paradox can be collapsed and consciousness raises to the next logical level above.

Many philosophies have revealed such processes in thought, and yet these remain useless as a method. I have developed a practical method that unravels many of the philosophical knots of the past. When we apply such techniques in a ordered fashion, we discover a pathway to enlightenment that is simply the evolution of logical levels of thinking, that are, indeed, experiential steps. One by one we climb out of a limited hole we have so cleverly trapped ourselves in. We begin to understand the Cosmic Jokes that have made much of our life into suffering.

Here, we even discover that being alive is as much a limitation on the continuum of life and death, yet death is seen to be the limitation within life. This is as much a conundrum as you find it. Is to be dead a sphere within the sphere called life within a sphere known as death, and is death contained within the sphere called eternal life and so forth? And even more interestingly, can I experience that journey within my own consciousness? The answer of course is yes, as long as you know how.

For many years researchers have written down a series of experiments that were designed to transmute base metal, lead into gold. Many metaphysicians throughout the ages have tried to do this with a greater or lesser success, some interpreting the process as physical, others as symbolic. Yet in one sense, rather paradoxically, it is both physical and spiritual. What you end up with promises to be the greatest riches ever laid upon man or woman. The question remains, of course, what are you willing to sacrifice for such a treasure. For as sure as ever, the requirement is as demanding in today's currency as it ever was in days of old.

Some people maintain that there is a difference between the occult world and the perceived one, and this difference is, seemingly, reserved for those who have what is known as second sight. However, what is known as second sight is the accurate observation of what is obvious but unimportant to everybody else. What the famous hypnotherapist, Milton Erickson, referred to as minimal cues.

The occult is observable reality and there is no animosity between science and the occult, other than a lack of understanding or observation. Something we can observe as "real" in the physical world has a correspondence in all other dimensions. How these correspondences operate is dependant on the elements available in that specific realm. What is a natural law in one world or realm, the physical for instance, is a natural law in all realms, although how it operates will be consistent with those things that have solidity in each realm. You can put your physical hand through a holographic wall, but you can neither put your physical hand through a physical wall, nor your holographic hand through a holographic wall.

There is a surprising thing in humanity; we all seem to shy away from what appears to be tension and disagreement. Yet, there is no activity in the universe that is free of friction. Friction causes heat, and ultimately heat will transform (usually but not always by melting) anything. You can separate and join things by the judicious use of friction.

In order to create a polished surface, a mirror, you must wear one surface with another, by friction. The constant rubbing of two surfaces together in the physical realm produces heat to the degree determined by the coefficient of friction for the two materials, and eventually will wear away or polish one or both surfaces. Rubbing a hard surface with a soft one can create a smooth polish on the hard surface, although the soft surface is either worn away or needs constant replenishment. Water rushing over stones causes the stones to become smooth.

Rubbing two hard surfaces together will cause both to polish to a smooth and glassy shine. Rocks rumbled together first of all create a large amount of frictional heat, as the rough edges are ground away. In time, the frictional heat created drops as the two surfaces polish and shine.

The constant rubbing together of two personalities in the emotional or astral realm also produces heat (often called anger) determined by the "hardness" or "softness" of the personality types, and eventually will wear out or polish one or both of the personalities.

When we consider how an ordinary stone is converted into semiprecious and finally into a gemstone we realise that it is through the application of a large amount of pressure. Pressure comes about by the adaptation of an increasing amount of limitation and containment. Most of us want to escape as soon as any level of pressure is applied. It is one of the elements of our modern social structure. Yet, on the other hand we want to become spiritually evolved, we want to become radiant like a diamond, yet only be subjected to the pressure needed for coal. Even if we sustained such pressure, we would still not find ourselves because an unpolished gemstone will be overlooked as worthless until it has been cut and polished, until it has been subjected to sufficient friction.

Friction is defined as the resistance encountered when the surface of one body moves upon or across that of another; a clash or opposition of two different temperaments, characters, or sets of opinions. Friction occurs in the physical, emotional or mental realms. There is no friction within the unmanifest, or spiritual realm. From this perspective, if there is friction then it is, by definition, not spiritual.

Our proposal here today is that one of the fundamental purposes of coming together in male - female relationships is in order to generate friction. Same sex relationships may develop agitation, but the basic substance is unable to produce the gloss needed to function as perfect reflections. This is another whole subject which I am not going to discuss here. So, rather than avoiding friction in relationship, we are suggesting that you welcome it as growthful, smoothing and polishing in a fuller context.

It is through this friction that we polish our emotional and mental beings to a glassy mirror finish. The surfaces giving a sustainable reflection to our committed intimate partner. Through these reflections we are able to truly see and understand ourselves. Through such understanding we are able to spiritualise. I am not saying this is the only method, for undoubtedly there are the methods of monks, withdrawal from the world. My method here is one for being in the world. It is relevant for the western way of life.

I am proposing a little experimenting here. I'd like you to find a group of friends and acquaintances of the same gender. In this group discuss the question, "What do members of the opposite sex do that upsets / angers or frustrates you?

When you have some answers for yourself personally, that is, from the discussion you have identified some of the things that they do that causes you to respond, then ask yourself "What about this do I resist in myself?"

It is our nature to want to pass the problem on to someone else, to blame them. It's your fault. It is also an answer to the question "What are you missing or missing out on in your life?"

Let us return to the basis of this blog which I have called "Into the Cauldron of Relationship: An Alchemy of Friction". What I am talking about is the alchemicalisation of relationships. Coming together in a container, a cauldron, a crucible, a chalice and generating the fiery reaction of two dissimilar elements. This is chemistry, and more potently alchemistry. Like any chemical reaction you must control the heat You generate. Too much heat will cause it to burn or explode; too little heat and the reaction will fizzle.

1. Enough heat is called Passion. (Passion = enough heat to keep the reaction alive or simmering.)
2. Too much heat is called Anger or Violence. This is the approach of the Intimidator. (This works off the belief "I have to defend myself against an attack")
3. Too little heat is called Indifference or withdrawal. This approach is adopted by the Aloof personality. (This works off the belief "Nothing I can do will make any difference")

How can I regulate the amount of heat or passion I bring to my relationship? Of prime importance to this question is the answer to "How committed am I to being in it?" This is not a question of how committed are you to the children, but how committed are you to your partner? Until you are committed there will always be the deterrent that one or other will walk.

This is not to condone violence. There is no way to condone actual violence, especially in a country like New Zealand where violence for many, is a way of life. Violence is the result of deeply ingrained and undischarged anger, and almost always has its basis in history. Violence is a psychological disorder and as such cannot be dealt with through the relationship. It is interesting to note that in some cases relationship violence is a dynamic between an intimidator character and a poor me one, and can be a way of generating high levels of passion. The side effects are injury and guilt. Neither violence nor total withdrawal are part of a loving relationship, but are mechanisms of control.

We have to ask ourselves, "Which of the three levels of passion do I normally use?" and following on from that "What change in behaviour would I have to be responsible for in order to regulate my own temperature into passion?" The change will always be the very thing that you have resisted being, and that your partner reflects back for you as what you dislike most about them. Isn't that interesting?

Let us explore this just a little. Life is a game and as such is determined by freedoms, barriers and purposes. Too much freedom or too many barriers give rise to a non-purpose game, that is no game at all. The seeming purposelessness of existence is totally cruel, with the only way out being suicidal. Any movement that promises unlimited freedom is bound to fail, just as any system that applies unlimited boundaries must. When the relationship between barriers and freedoms becomes too unbalanced, unhappiness prevails.

The angry and violent person has boundaries that are easily triggered, and are too close. They often want to push away and separate. They have a feeling of being overwhelmed and pressured. They have too much barrier. In order to turn their heat down, their passion down, they must relax their boundaries allowing themselves to become free.

The indifferent and withdrawing person has boundaries that are too loose, they desire too much freedom. They are already separate, and often somewhat selfish. They have a fear of confronting, that is insisting on being themselves. They must tighten their boundaries and plan their lives more effectively. These people need to be clear about their needs, be willing to engage another, and generate more heat, more passion.

Attitudes to sex are still one of the major problems in the western world. Sex is polluted or distorted by unresolved anger or fear. That is too much or too little control. This means we are either too hot or too cold, and will struggle to obtain the opposite.

Sex is the only activity that is totally reserved for the intimate personal relationship. If is not reserved, there are no barriers to free and open sex, then there will be unhappiness. Sex is the most obvious way in which friction is generated in a safe and controllable fashion. In alchemy this is the fourth gate called Conjunctio. We have to realise conjunctio is neither fucking nor making love, but a method of generating passion. Through passion, sex connects, generates heat through friction, which begins at the physical level, raises the power of love through expression at the throat and explodes the mind, and opening into the vast plane of unmanifest spirit. Passionate response leads directly to spiritual connection, and if this can be done with awareness, then it leads to enlightenment. This is the way of Tantra, of the Tao, and of Western Magick.

Here is a little trick. Obsession is created when somebody offers something and then withdraws it just at the moment you seem to get it. To obsess yourself, offer yourself something that you'll never be able to have. There's a joke in there somewhere. For more see www.prophet.co.nz
